It seems that surreal political fiction has reached the pinnacle of dark comedy. Isaac Herzog, the President of the State of Israel, has appeared before the public with a bare face, making absolute statements that go beyond mere insolence and challenge the capacity of the sane human mind to comprehend. The President confidently declared that his state does not seek invasion or expansion, but is „a source of blessing and morality for the whole world,” from which the entire universe should learn.
Today, the man who months ago personally took up a pen to scribble provocative messages on the artillery shells fired at Gaza and Lebanon – the missiles that tore apart the bodies of tens of thousands of children, women and civilians – wears the guise of a humanitarian preacher.
Blood on the White Cloth: The Numbers of the "Moral Mission"
The bloodiest joke in modern history is unfolding before our eyes. While the president of the occupying power cries out for security and preaches his moral superiority, his country is waging a total, destructive war against several Arab states at once. The complete siege and starvation of Gaza, the systematic razing of southern Lebanon, the illegal incursion into Syrian territory, and the bombing of Iran are the backbone of this „civilizing mission.”.
These subtle morals that Herzog speaks of are translated by international organizations into the language of shocking numbers. The balance of the alleged „blessing” is:

It is well known in political communication research that hasbara (state propaganda) that attempts to frame military aggression and collective punishment as a cosmic, defensive struggle against „barbarism.” This highly developed mentality attempts to reinterpret basic human concepts in favor of murderers and settler expansion.
How can a leadership that commits massacres, ethnic cleansing, and forced evacuations, and that today lives on the blood of innocents, see itself as a beacon of morality?
This level of perversion and lawlessness can only exist because the international community and the Western powers assist it with complicit silence – and arms shipments. However, the arrest warrants of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the genocide proceedings of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) show that the mask of moral superiority has finally failed. The murderer’s impudence when he speaks of ethics is not a sign of power, but of the moral endgame of the fascist structure.
