January 29, 2024-is not just a date on the calendar. It is the day when, amidst the ruins of Gaza, something was finally shattered: the illusion of a „clean war” perpetuated by the global media. Hind Rajab, a six-year-old girl, fled with her family when the Israeli army opened fire on their car. Hind was left alone among the dead and spent hours pleading on the phone with Red Crescent workers for help. The terror in the recording, the child’s voice as she speaks of the tanks nearby and the impending death, is a document against which all propaganda filters fail.
The movie that won't let you look away
The work of Oscar-nominated director Kaouther Ben Hania goes far beyond the usual documentary style. The Voice of Hind Rajab does not allow the viewer the comfortable position of an „outsider.” The film presents with ruthless accuracy the cynical machinery in which humanitarian appeals and rescue operations do not count when geopolitical goals demand the destruction of civilian lives.

Demand accountability: In March 2026, the United States introduced the „"Justice for Hind Rajab Act"” bill (initiated by Sara Jacobs, Peter Welch, Chris Van Hollen, Joaquin Castro and Pramila Jayapal). This legislation would oblige the US government to investigate the murder of Hind Rajab, her family and the rescue team. Although the film was made in America, international pressure is essential - remind decision-makers that international law cannot be selective!
