Stephen Kapos, a Holocaust survivor, at the Nakba Day demonstration in London:
The 88-year-old man has taken part in nearly every demonstration over the past two years, protesting Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Stephen is standing and sitting with his family and members of the group „Holocaust Survivors and Descendants Against the Genocide in Gaza.”.
He told us the following:
„Today we remember not only the forcible displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian Arabs and the looting of their homes during the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948. We also remember the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands and the genocide taking place in Gaza.”
„The peoples of the world must demand justice for the Palestinians and fight for it, so as to compel their own governments to take action to end Israel’s genocide, occupation, and apartheid.”
„That is why these marches are attacked so often—it is the threat we pose to injustice. And the symbol of solidarity and hope that we represent.”
