Palestinian factions have responded to the proposals put forward by Nikolay Mladenov, head of the „Peace Center,” regarding the Gaza peace plan.
Israeli attacks continue in the Gaza Strip even on the 245th day of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire; local authorities have recorded more than 3,269 ceasefire violations by Israel.
According to figures from the Gaza government press office, Israeli attacks since the nominal ceasefire in October have killed more than 992 people and wounded 3,138.
On Monday, an Israeli airstrike near a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza killed one Palestinian and wounded several others. Earlier in the day, a woman was killed when an airstrike hit the area around the Abdul Rahman bin Awf Mosque, west of the Al-Zuwayda neighborhood in central Gaza.
In another incident, Israeli forces opened fire on a father and his child in Deir Al-Balah and then arbitrarily detained them. After their release, the boy—identified as Rayan Bahaa Abu al-Ajeen—was pronounced dead at al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
More than 73,000 Palestinians have lost their lives in Gaza since the genocide began in October 2023; an additional 8,000 people are estimated to be buried under the rubble, and 3,000 are listed as missing.
Despite the October ceasefire coming into effect, Israeli forces have abducted dozens of Palestinians from Gaza; according to the press office, at least 95 people were detained during this period.
„We condemn in the strongest terms the occupiers” systematic policy aimed at the targeted annihilation of our Palestinian people,„ the office stated. ”We hold the occupiers fully responsible for the continuing deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.”
Regarding humanitarian aid, the office noted that just over 52,740 aid trucks had entered the zone — just 36 percent of the 147,000 trucks stipulated in the ceasefire agreement.
Under the agreement, Israel was required to ease restrictions on aid shipments and allow up to 600 trucks per day into Gaza, carrying food, fuel, medical supplies, shelter materials, and commercial goods.
The restrictions on the Gaza crossing points affect not only the entry of aid, but also the freedom of movement of Palestinians. Of the 19,600 travelers stipulated in the agreement, only 6,845 were allowed to cross.
The Ministry of Health reported that the closure of the crossing points on this scale led to the deaths of approximately 1,500 patients who had medical referrals and were supposed to have left the area since May 2024.
Amid the recent intensification of Israeli attacks, Palestinian factions have responded to a proposal by Nikolay Mladenov, head of the Gaza Peace Center, regarding the implementation of the Gaza peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
In a statement issued on Monday, Hamas confirmed the move and called on mediators to ensure that Israel complies with all the terms of the ceasefire.
„The parliamentary groups have announced that they will remain in continuous session to monitor developments on the ground and in the political arena, and to intensify their efforts to ensure a response to the legitimate demands that will alleviate the suffering of our people in the Gaza Strip,” the movement added.
