The changing face of the police
One of the most striking experiences of the demonstration was the change in police action. Compared to previous demonstrations, the behavior of the authorities was noticeably different: there was no trace of aggression or hatred radiating from their eyes. The police - although they carried out the mandatory background checks - did not hinder the demonstration, and in fact, they effectively restrained the Zionist counter-protesters, who tried to disrupt the peaceful demonstration with their provocations. This difference in behavior is a clear indication that the authorities also see the shift in public opinion.
A true leader: G. Ras
The success they achieved yesterday is largely due to the persistent, calm and prepared work of G. Ras. He was the pillar who remained true to his principles throughout, and thanks to whom the movement remained disciplined and effective despite the difficulties. His example can give many of us the strength to continue.
The limits of Zionist power
Yesterday proved that the Zionists' influence in Budapest is not as great as they would like to make it seem. The "big dogs" knew about our presence in the first 10 minutes, received the recordings, and did everything they could to put pressure on us. But what was the end result? All they achieved was to send the police - but they could not ban the demonstration, they could not suppress our voices.
The Herzl Square demonstration showed: the era of fear-mongering is over. We will be there next time, because the suffering of the Palestinian people cannot be postponed, and solidarity is the only answer that matters.
