According to the Israeli broadcaster, officials expect the \u201ePeace Commission\u201d to determine that Hamas has violated the ceasefire agreement, which could remove the obstacle to another attack.<\/b><\/p>\n

Israel believes that fighting in Gaza could resume within the next two months, potentially before the October elections, according to a report by Israel's Channel 12.<\/p>\n

Citing Israeli officials, the broadcaster said on Saturday: Israel expects the US-led \u201ePeace Commission\u201d to conclude within the next two to three months that Hamas has violated the agreement by refusing to disarm.<\/p>\n

Such a decision could pave the way for Israel to resume its raids in parts of Gaza that are not currently under its control, raising the possibility of a renewal of protracted fighting, the report said.<\/p>\n

Channel 12 also quoted a political source as saying that the committee's director general, Nikolay Mladenov, had considered declaring Hamas a violator of the agreement two months ago, but postponed the move at the request of mediators.<\/p>\n

\u201eIf nothing changes within three months, Mladenov will accuse Hamas of violating the agreement,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n

The Peace Commission, chaired by US President Donald Trump, was established in January as part of a US initiative aimed at securing a settlement in Gaza.<\/p>\n

This followed a ceasefire agreement reached in October aimed at ending two years of genocide in Gaza, a conflict in which Israel has killed nearly 72,000 Palestinians, destroyed much of the territory and created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.<\/p>\n

Despite the ceasefire, Israel has since repeatedly violated the agreement: killing more than 1,000 Palestinians, expanding the so-called \u201ebuffer zone\u201d and maintaining strict restrictions on humanitarian aid.<\/p>\n
