The film, starring Jonathan Majors, was called \u201eartificial intelligence-generated scum\u201d and branded Islamophobic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Run, Hide, Fight: Infidels<\/i> A new film, Run, Hide, Fight: Infidels, produced by the Daily Wire, a media company co-founded by American right-wing commentator Ben Shapiro, has been met with significant backlash online after its trailer was released. The trailer and plot details are specifically aimed at Muslims and pro-Palestinian college students.<\/p>\n

The official trailer, shared on X on Thursday, features an opening montage of clips from Fox News hosts warning of \u201eterror plots,\u201d followed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio talking about \u201eradical Islam,\u201d Islamic State (IS) executions, pro-Palestinian tent camps, the 9\/11 attacks, and the IS flag. The sequences eventually zoom in on a Virginia college campus, where the militant group\u2019s flag flies over a building.<\/p>\n

As the camera pans out, the adhan, the Islamic call to prayer, blares from the speakers. The students are seen stopping, then spreading out rugs and prostrating themselves on the ground, seemingly imitating, albeit incorrectly, Islamic prayer.<\/p>\n

The film, which one social media user criticized as \u201ea collection of catchphrases piling up on each other,\u201d reads the description: \u201eWhen radical Islamic terrorists hijack a liberal college\u2019s pro-Palestinian tent camp to impose barbaric Sharia law on students and execute infidels in a makeshift caliphate, a handful of determined students, a security guard tired of being called \u2019Uncle Tom\u2019 (a.k.a. \u201dB.E.\u2019) and a Delta Force veteran are forced to take up arms to save their bewildered comrades and prevent America from surrendering to the enemy on its own soil.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jonathan Majors, who was found guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment against his ex-girlfriend in 2023, plays a \u201eDelta Force veteran\u201d who must save \u201ehelpless\u201d liberal students who are falling victim to \u201ebarbaric Sharia law.\u201d.<\/p>\n

The move is the disgraced actor's comeback attempt after being fired from starring roles in Marvel projects that Disney has been working on. Avengers: Endgame<\/i> After its success, he wanted to maintain the franchise's revenue records.<\/p>\n

The film is related to a 2020 film with a similar title, Run, Hide, Fight<\/i>with, also written and directed by Kyle Rankin.<\/p>\n

The film is based on the pro-Palestinian tent camps that were set up on several American campuses following Israel\u2019s \u201egenocidal war\u201d in Gaza. Students camped outside campuses such as Columbia University in New York City to protest the financial, academic, and political ties between their institutions and Israeli-linked corporations accused of complicity in the genocide.<\/p>\n

\u201eDehumanization as entertainment\u201d<\/h3>\n

Critics on social media condemned the film's plot as Islamophobic and anti-Palestinian propaganda.<\/p>\n

One user on X wrote: \u201eThis is not a brave return to old-school action movies. This is propaganda designed to turn every pro-Palestinian student into a potential terrorist and every Muslim into a threat\u2026 Dehumanization is being sold as entertainment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another user called it \u201ea promo for a 2010s Fox News weekend propaganda documentary\u201d intended to \u201escare boomers into assisting in whatever madness the Pentagon and CIA want to commit.\u201d.<\/p>\n

Film critics were also skeptical; the Metro<\/i> journalist Brooke Ivey Johnson wrote: \u201eThe official synopsis reads as if someone asked AI to cram all the arguments of every American culture warrior talking head into a single paragraph, didn\u2019t read it through, and then hit send.\u201d<\/p>\n

The AV Club<\/i> The cultural portal described the film as "clearly designed to provoke outrage across the political spectrum", calling it "shamelessly propagandistic".<\/p>\n

The film's poster shows a man holding a knife to the throat of a young woman wearing a Palestinian headscarf (keffiyeh), a common symbol of pro-Palestinian protests against the Israeli occupation.<\/p>\n

One user commented on the poster, saying he didn't understand the "joyful desire to relive the GWOT (Global War on Terror) hysteria.".<\/p>\n

Some of the more threatening comments reflected a growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States, in which Islamophobic messages portraying Muslims as a threat are increasingly widespread.<\/p>\n
