In the occupied territories, the value of Palestinian lives is subordinated to security measures, which in practice results in the total vulnerability of the civilian population. The occupation, which has been ongoing since 1967, takes place in an environment where military routine has led to the gradual \u201enormalization\u201d of violence.<\/p>\n
