According to reports, U.S. President Donald Trump lost his temper during a phone call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday; He called the prime minister a \u201efucking lunatic\u201d and told him that \u201eeveryone hates Israel,\u201d while demanding that Israel agree to a ceasefire with Hezbollah.<\/p>\n
The Axios<\/i> He quoted an American official who summarized Trump\u2019s message to Netanyahu as follows: \u201eYou\u2019re out of your fucking mind. You\u2019d be in jail if it weren\u2019t for me. I saved your ass. By now, everyone hates you. Because of all this, everyone hates Israel.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another source familiar with the details of the call told the newspaper that the U.S. president was \u201efurious\u201d and at one point shouted at Netanyahu, \u201eWhat the f*ck are you doing?\u201d<\/p>\n
Two sources also said that Trump accused Netanyahu of ingratitude during a meeting to discuss the escalation of fighting in Lebanon, which the Axios<\/i> \u201eHe described it as \u201dteeming with profanity.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Although U.S. officials told the news site that Trump is aware that Hezbollah is continuously firing at Israel and that Jerusalem has the right to respond, he believed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had responded disproportionately in recent days. This, in turn, jeopardizes Washington\u2019s efforts to secure an extension of the ceasefire with Iran, as Tehran has linked the agreement to a ceasefire in Lebanon.<\/p>\n
Trump really \u201eran over\u201d Netanyahu during the call, an American official told the Axios<\/i>\u2014to which \u201eBibi replied, \u2019Okay, okay, just make sure everything\u2019s taken care of.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Citing U.S. officials, the paper also reported that Trump reminded Netanyahu that he was the one who had kept him out of prison. This is an obvious reference to Trump\u2019s repeated, public demand that President Yitzhak Herzog grant a pardon to the prime minister, who is currently facing a lengthy corruption trial.<\/p>\n
Netanyahu's office did not respond to inquiries regarding the report.<\/p>\n
In posts on the Truth Social platform, Trump wrote that he had \u201ea very productive conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, and no troops will be sent to Beirut; those already on their way have been turned back.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201eHe turned his troops around. Thank you, Bibi!\u201d wrote Trump, who described Israel\u2019s plans for an attack as \u201ea massive raid on Beirut.\u201d.<\/p>\n
Israeli military sources, however, stated that, contrary to Trump\u2019s claim, no troops were actually heading toward Beirut.<\/p>\n
\u201eSimilarly\u2014through high-ranking representatives\u2014I had a very good conversation with Hezbollah as well, and they agreed that all shooting would stop\u2014Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel,\u201d Trump added, without specifying who he had communicated with within the terrorist organization, while also claiming that Hezbollah had agreed to halt attacks against Israeli forces.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu often emphasizes his strong and close relationship with Trump and the White House. However, the remarks reported on Monday were not the first time the U.S. president had expressed his displeasure with him.<\/p>\n
Last September, Trump reportedly told his close aides that Netanyahu was \u201escrewing me over\u201d (literally: \u201cfking me\u201d).<\/p>\n
The Axios<\/i> According to reports, the White House also sent Netanyahu a \u201efirm, private message\u201d that same month regarding the ceasefire with Hamas.<\/p>\n
In 2021, Trump lashed out at Netanyahu because the Israeli leader was among the first to congratulate U.S. President Joe Biden on his election victory.<\/p>\n
\u201eHe was really fast. Faster than most people. I haven\u2019t spoken to him since. F*ck him,\u201d Trump said in an interview with Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, who on Monday Axios<\/i>-is also behind the report.<\/p>\n

Following Monday\u2019s call, Gadi Eisenkot, the leader of the Yashar party\u2014who is seen as a key rival to Netanyahu\u2019s Likud party in the upcoming elections\u2014sharply criticized Netanyahu for \u201ecaving in\u201d to Trump\u2019s demands.<\/p>\n
\u201eThere has never been a prime minister in Israel who would have capitulated to such an obviously unreasonable demand!\u201d \u2013 wrote the former minister and former IDF chief of staff on X, condemning the Hezbollah attacks on northern Israeli settlements.<\/p>\n
\u201eWhat Netanyahu, the government, and the cabinet are doing today is harming the national interests of the State of Israel from a position of weakness. And don\u2019t try to make up stories about the U.S.\u201ds negotiations with Iran,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201eLebanon is right next door, Metula is under fire, and Israeli communities have been depopulated\u2014this is unacceptable,\u201d Eisenkot said. \u201eAnd this is being done by the very man who lectured everyone on the moral imperative that a prime minister must be able to say \u2019no\u2019 to the President of the United States if the interests of the State of Israel are harmed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Itamar Ben Gvir, the far-right national security minister, also publicly called on Netanyahu on X to say \u201eno\u201d to Trump regarding the ceasefire.<\/p>\n
\u201ePrime Minister, you said that a strong prime minister says \u2019yes\u2019 to the President of the United States when possible, and says \u2019no\u2019 when necessary,\u201d Ben Gvir wrote. \u201eIt is time to say no to our friend, President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201eNow is the time to do what is necessary and essential to decapitate Hezbollah, to give our fighters a free hand, and to restore security to the northern territories,\u201d added the far-right minister.<\/p>\n

The report was released just as Trump announced that Washington had brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, after the agreement reached between Israel and Lebanon in April had collapsed in recent days. Despite his announcement, the Iran-backed terrorist organization continued shelling northern towns until early Tuesday morning, while Lebanese media reported further IDF airstrikes.<\/p>\n
Following Trump\u2019s announcement, an Israeli source stated that Jerusalem had agreed to postpone the planned strikes against Beirut\u2014just a few hours after Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz announced that they had ordered the army to attack Hezbollah targets in the Lebanese capital.<\/p>\n
Trump did not clarify the exact terms of the alleged ceasefire, and conflicting reports have emerged from Washington, Jerusalem, Beirut, and Hezbollah. Hezbollah claimed that the ceasefire prohibits Israeli strikes not only in the Lebanese capital but throughout the entire country.<\/p>\n
There was no immediate reaction from Israel to Trump\u2019s announcement, but about two hours later, Netanyahu stated that Israel would carry out its previous plans to attack Beirut if Hezbollah did not cease its strikes against northern Israel.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Netanyahu\u2019s statement, sirens sounded in the border town of Metula. According to the IDF, the alert was triggered by a rocket fired by Hezbollah, which landed near Israeli troops conducting operations in southern Lebanon.<\/p>\n
Sirens sounded early Tuesday morning in northern communities as well, where, according to the IDF, two Hezbollah rockets fired toward the area were intercepted. In the Western Galilee, a drone believed to be linked to Hezbollah struck a military post near the Lebanese border.<\/p>\n
No one was injured in the attacks.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Lebanese media reported several Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon following Trump\u2019s announcement, although the IDF did not immediately comment on the matter.<\/p>\n

The latest wave of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah began on March 2, when Hezbollah fired rockets into northern Israel, two days after the U.S. and Israel attacked its main backer, Iran. Since then, 26 IDF soldiers and one civilian contractor working for the Ministry of Defense have been killed in southern Lebanon (14 of them since the ceasefire took effect on April 16). Two civilians were killed by Hezbollah rockets, and one Israeli civilian was killed by friendly fire from the Israeli artillery in the north.<\/p>\n
According to a statement by the Israeli military, more than 2,500 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in Lebanon since early March, including hundreds of members of the terrorist organization\u2019s elite Radwan unit.<\/p>\n
Since March 2, Hezbollah has fired approximately 5,500 rockets at IDF forces operating in the south and about 2,500 directly into Israeli territory, according to army data. At least 75 impact sites have been recorded in Israel.<\/p>\n
In addition, Hezbollah launched approximately 300 drones, 25 of which struck Israeli targets, according to the IDF.<\/p>\n
According to IDF estimates, Hezbollah still possesses thousands of short-range rockets and hundreds of longer-range projectiles. The military stated that Hezbollah is now launching most of its attacks from deeper inside southern Lebanon, north of the Litani River, rather than from the immediate vicinity of the border.<\/p>\n
