Since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict, Tel-Aviv has been waging not only armed conflict but also an extensive disinformation campaign to make its actions in Gaza\u2014which have already claimed more than 67,000 Palestinian lives (according to experts, this number may in reality be much higher). Although the Western media initially accepted these narratives uncritically, most have now been refuted by independent sources. The article examines the nine biggest claims of Israeli propaganda.<\/p>\n
\u00a01. The Myth of the \u201e40 Beheaded Infants\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n At the start of the war, news spread like wildfire that Hamas militants had beheaded forty infants during the attack. This was first refuted by the Turkish Anadolu Agency after an Israeli military spokesperson admitted that they had no evidence to support the allegations. It later emerged that the claim originated from a radical West Bank settler commander, and the White House itself was forced to retract Joe Biden\u2019s ill-considered statements on the matter. The bodies or photos of the alleged victims were never found.<\/p>\n 2. Allegations of mass rape<\/strong><\/p>\n Israel accused Hamas of committing systematic, mass rape on October 7. Months later, a member of ZAKA, the Israeli volunteer organization on which the accusation was based, admitted to the Associated Press that, in the absence of physical evidence, he had merely \u201eassumed\u201d the incidents had occurred, and that the claim was not true. In contrast, video recordings and human rights reports confirm that Israeli forces committed sexual abuse against both male and female Palestinian prisoners.<\/p>\n 3. The theory of \u201ePalestinian civilians as human shields\u201d<\/p>\n Israel regularly justifies the bombing of civilian infrastructure (such as Al-Shifa Hospital) by claiming that Hamas uses the civilian population as human shields and hides in hospitals. However, no concrete evidence (videos, photos) has been presented to date, and doctors who have worked at the hospital for decades have also denied any military presence. In contrast, numerous videos prove that it is the Israeli army that uses Palestinian civilians as human shields: they are tied to the hoods of jeeps or forced to enter buildings to be searched ahead of the soldiers. In addition, Israel regularly bombs the \u201esafe zones\u201d it has designated.<\/p>\n 4. The hijacking of humanitarian aid by Hamas<\/p>\n Israel accused Hamas of appropriating the minimal aid shipments allowed into Gaza. In July 2025, both the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Israeli military itself denied this claim to The New York Times, as they found no evidence to support it. Later, Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that they had in fact paid criminal gangs in Gaza responsible for looting the aid.<\/p>\n 5. Palestinian Journalists\u2019 Collaboration with Terrorists<\/p>\n Israel has accused several Palestinian journalists of working for Hamas, thereby effectively justifying their killing (this was the case, for example, with Al Jazeera reporter Anas Al-Sharif). A Reuters investigation also refuted the Israeli military\u2019s claim that the camera system destroyed at Nasser Hospital belonged to Hamas\u2014it was owned by the British news agency. According to media analysts, Israel is deliberately seeking to impose a news blackout: since the start of the conflict, some 300 journalists and media workers have been killed.<\/p>\n 6. Hamas\u2019s sabotage of the ceasefire agreements<\/p>\n According to Israel, the peace agreement is not being reached because of Hamas. In reality, Hamas has repeatedly accepted the multi-phase ceasefire proposals drafted by mediators (Qatar, Egypt, the U.S.) (for example, in 2024 and 2025). In contrast, Netanyahu\u2014in order to ensure his political survival and under the protection of American diplomatic vetoes\u2014has consistently rejected and sabotaged the agreements, a fact confirmed by the relatives of the Israeli hostages themselves and by the Israeli media.<\/p>\n 7. Downplaying the number of Palestinian victims<\/p>\n Israel consistently disputes the casualty figures reported by local health authorities and international organizations in an effort to downplay international outrage. While Palestinian and UN records indicate more than 67,000 deaths and 170,000 injuries, independent expert studies suggest that, including indirect deaths, the actual number could be as high as 200,000.<\/p>\n 8. \u201ePrecision strikes\u201d and reality<\/p>\n Tel Aviv claims that it is targeting only Hamas\u2019s military infrastructure with surgical precision. This is contradicted by the sight of the Gaza Strip reduced to rubble: schools, residential buildings, refugee camps, and hospitals have been destroyed en masse, which points not to precision warfare but to collective punishment and carpet bombing.<\/p>\n 9. The Myth of the \u201eWorld\u2019s Most Moral Army\u201d<\/p>\n Israeli leaders are fond of referring to the IDF as the most ethical army in the world. In contrast, the International Criminal Court (ICC) has already issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes. Over the past two years, Israeli soldiers have been documented digging up mass graves, torturing Palestinian prisoners with electricity and dogs, looting civilians\u2019 homes, and proudly posing on social media with the personal belongings or underwear of fleeing Palestinians.
